Peak Addiction Recovery Center's primary focus is on inpatient treatment for alcohol and drug abuse. The average stay for clients in inpatient treatment is 30 days. However, treatment can be extended to 45 or 60 days depending on individual need.
What Is The Intake Process and Individualized Treatment?
Upon intake, the client will be introduced to PARC staff members, other clients, the facility in general, and will begin intake processing and assessments. Individualized treatment plans that include goals and objectives, are created with the patient, doctor, therapist and various other collaborative sources. An integral component of the treatment program is daily involvement and evaluation of each client's progress. This is evaluated by the client's assigned counselor, the clinical supervisor, PARC doctors, The Executive Director, and other PARC team members. The collaborative effort to establish open, honest, direct communication between the client community and the treatment team is fundamental to the healing process.
What Is Aftercare and "Safe Scenario" Placement?
In collaboration with the client's individualized treatment plan, the client's counselor will help the client build a continued care plan that insures the best success after leaving inpatient treatment. Often times this plan includes transitioning into sober living houses and continues treatment with aftercare groups at Peak Addiction Recovery Center's downtown offices. When a sober living house is not a reasonable transition, every effort will be made to ensure that the client transitions into an environment that is deemed safe, healthy, supportive of recovery, and completely free of drugs and alcohol.
Peak Addiction Recovery Center offers two weekly aftercare groups at our downtown offices. These groups provide an atmosphere of safety, camaraderie, and vital continued support for ongoing growth in recovery. Family is welcome to attend and be involved in one of the weekly aftercare groups. Every client transitioning from inpatient treatment is strongly urged to continue regular 12-step meeting attendance.
What About Dual Diagnosis / Co-Occurring Disorders?
Studies have shown that one of every two people suffering from chemical dependency have an additional diagnosis, often times an additional mental illness. Those suffering from a mental illness use drugs and alcohol for the same reasons as those who use without a mental illness, but in many cases the effects of drug and alcohol use for those with a mental disorder are more sensitive. In most cases, the two occurrences are mutually influencing conditions - and without treating one, the other cannot be treated. In the context of substance abuse treatment, there can be several such coexisting conditions that can impede the treatment.
While Peak Addiction Recovery Center primarily focuses on substance abuse treatment, we clearly recognize the need to maintain or treat other illnesses. Our team of doctors and clinicians will incorporate co-occurring disorders, and the appropriate treatment into the client's individual treatment plan.
It is important to note that it is Peak Addiction Recovery Center's strong opinion that solely treating a mental illness, without treating the co-occurring addiction, is often times only a temporary solution to a lifetime problem.
What About Medication / Pharmacological Assistance?
In most cases, alcohol and drug addiction is a treatable illness, without the use of additional medication. More often than not, Peak Addiction Recovery Center will opt to offer a longer stay in treatment for a client to obtain stability, rather than offer a pharmacological solution to the client's addiction problems. However, certain clients benefit greatly from prudent use of appropriate medications. In these cases, Peak Addiction Recovery Center will offer medication to assist a client in overcoming certain hurdles in recovery. Other than medications used to correct other mental illnesses, PARC utilizes the benefits offered by medication to alleviate health risks of withdrawal and ease the cravings from certain substances; typically alcohol and opiates. In no way does Peak Addiction Recovery Center believe that freedom from addiction can solely be found in a medication.
Peak Addiction Recovery Center stores and administers medications based on Q-MAP policies and procedures. Clients do not have access to any medications at any time, and only medication approved by PARC Medical staff shall be administered.
How Much Does Treatment Cost?
As a nonprofit treatment facility, Peak Addiction Recovery Center is committed to offer the best treatment at rates that are obtainable to the general population. P.A.R.C. offers rates on a sliding scale, based on the client's economic situation. In general, without other assistance (insurance, government funds, etc) the cost of treatment ranges from $5,500 - $10,000 per treatment episode. Realistic payment plans are accepted in some cases. Peak Addiction Recovery Center is committed to provide a limited number of indigent / no-fee treatment beds to our local community.Contact the Executive Director for more information.
