Addiction Recovery

The Peak Addiction Recovery Center (PARC) is based in the Pine Peaks region of Colorado - within close vicinity of Colorado Springs. It offers addiction recovery programs to clients wishing to rid themselves of their unhealthy ailments, in a serene and quiet environment, with ample group and individual therapy as part of the in-patient program. The addiction recovery program at PARC constitutes both an in-patient and out-patient program. The out-patient program helps in the transition back to a normal life, and clients can live in transitional homes, with separate accommodations for males (The Samaritan Inn) and females (The Foundation Home). Both of these are based in downtown Colorado Springs. A trained and experienced staff of about 15 manages the addiction recovery center at PARC, with clinical, counseling and medical staff available. Each patient is started on an addiction recovery program that is specially designed for them - keeping in view the results from initial physical and psychological tests that are conducted to determine the specific recovery plan that would work best for each individual. Clinical and counseling staff observes the pace of recovery of clients and make appropriate changes to their treatment, if any are needed.

The needs of clients are kept in mind while carrying out all recovery programs and well structured addiction recovery is offered so that clients can rid themselves from the ailment of addiction forever. Addiction recovery courses and sessions include individual counseling, behavioral and motivational therapy, community re-entry planning, 12-step introduction and meetings,, relaxation and exercise therapy, nutritional counseling, spiritual discovery, relapse prevention planning, step-down sober living, after-patient care and out-patient therapy in addition to many more activities and courses to help clients through their addiction ailment. Addiction recovery programs at PARC are not for every alcoholic or addict, however. PARC strongly believes that a lot of alcoholics and addicts are able to overcome their addictions through group therapies and less intense programs like out-patient therapy, alcoholics' groups and religious community programs.

Those that are unable to benefit from such programs (having tried them and suffering relapses once or more) are the intended audience for PARC as an addiction recovery center. If someone has tried to get sober and is increasingly becoming a risk to themselves and others, with their drug or alcohol problems consistently getting worse, then the addiction recovery program at PARC can help these individuals. If one is not sure about whether one has an addiction or not - it is pretty easy to determine if one answers a few questions as honestly (to one's self) as possible. These include asking one's self whether one has felt the need to cut down on their drinking, whether one gets irritated when others mention or criticize one's drinking, whether one feels guilty about drinking, and whether one often needs a drink early in the morning as a wake-me-up or nerve-stabilizer (the same questions apply to substance abusers as well). Answering these questions can help one determine how big a problem their drinking or substance abuse really is. One should always ask for help if these habits seem to be getting out of hand.
