Addiction Rehab

Addiction rehab is offered in a serene, private and scenic environment at the Peak Addiction Recovery Center, based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is a private, non-profit corporation that was founded by Mr. Michael J. Kelvey and Dr. Charles J. Stephens in an attempt to provide viable treatment options for those afflicted with severe alcoholism and drug abuse addictions. Experienced clinical and medical staff of about fifteen individuals manage and operate this Center for addiction rehab. Recovery programs begin with in-patient treatment. Each client, at the outset, is given an extensive physical and psychological exam to determine their specific needs and to help conceptualize an individualized treatment program that would enable them to best overcome their addictions. The clinical staff at Peak Addiction Recovery is ever present to gauge the progress of in-patients and to chart out any changes that may be required in the patient's treatment program according to their practical pace of improvement. In addition to medical and psychological treatments, the staff at Peak Addiction Recovery is committed to aiding recovery through introduction of clients to churches - for spiritual strength to increase their resolve to beat their addiction.

Addiction rehab at the Peak Addiction Recovery Center is carried out through a variety of courses and counselings offered. These include exercise therapy, a relapse prevention class, behavioral therapy, nutritional counseling, educational lectures, mirror imaging classes, 12-step introduction classes, 12-step meetings, needs assessment and counseling, individual therapy, long term needs assessment and counseling, post-treatment needs assessment, family group sessions, addiction education, post-treatment planning, experiential therapy, leadership groups, community involvement activities, community re-entry planning and 'safe scenario' placement. Once clients check into the addiction rehab program at Peak Addiction Recovery Center, their in-patient residential treatment usually lasts about one to two months depending on their level of addiction and pace of recovery. Most clients who 'pass' this in-patient duration at the addiction rehab center are then transferred to 'transitional sober homes' while attending out-patient treatment (also provided by Peak Addiction Recovery Center) based in downtown Colorado Springs. Peak Addiction Recovery Center believes that the process of sober living, outpatient therapy and supervision offers a healthy and smooth reintegration into clients' normal lives.

This gentle procedure involving transitional outpatient treatment helps increase chances of long term sobriety of these clients. True freedom from addiction is a long journey and the Peak Addiction Recovery Center's commitment to a healthy, sober and safe transition from inpatient treatment creates the best possible odds for a rewarding and prosperous life. The in-patient and out-patient treatment for addiction rehab that the Peak Addiction Recovery Center provides to clients is delivered under an inclusive and non-discriminatory policy. This means that even if a client cannot afford to enter the addiction rehab program at this recovery center, grants are available from corporate donations and private gifts to the Peak Addiction Recovery Center. However, these are based on availability of funds and those interested are advised to contact staff of the Peak Addiction Recovery Center for more information on what financial support is available and to what extent.
